@Kronur I am very curious about that one!
I don't do the episodes games anymore (meaning I'll play it only once all the episodes come out). I played The Walking Dead Season 2 episodes every time they came out and because of the time in between each episodes, I felt soo detached from the characters, which pretty much ruins the purpose of a story driven game in my opinion.

I took this shot while playing GTA5, how badass is it though?!

  • @Kronur and @Naila - I'm really enjoying Life is Strange! I quite enjoy the episodic format, because I'm always involved in so many games that it's nice to be able to play bite-sized, two or three-hour chunks at a time as they come out. That said, I can understand the other side of the argument.

Right now I'm playing Final Fantasy V (working my way through the marathon still... should be starting VI within this coming week!), Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Hyrule Warriors (will never stop playing this), and probably going to get back into Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 soon, what with Mewtwo and new tracks coming for those games respectively. YAY VIDEO GAMES.

    I'm playing Contrast (thanks @Naila)!

I'm only just on Act 2, but I'm really enjoying it. It's visually stunning, the characters are brilliant (although Didi and 'we've got to get the film for daddy!' nearly made me hate the tiny human), and I'm really finding myself invested in the storyline and wanting to know more about the world/why the characters are doing what they're doing (and basically everything I can learn about Didi's fantastic parents). The fact it's actually making me want to get all the collectables means a lot in conjunction to how lazy I am.

And also the fact that if you leave things long enough, you get different outcomes (the shadow scene with the gun made me almost cry let me tell you; thank god that wasn't the right route) just makes me love it even more.

I haven't played a game this investing in a loooong time. Or any game really (the last one I completed was Little Inferno).

@Zotaku87 I am DYING to get a Wii U, so many games I want to play on it and Hyrule Warriors is definitely on my list. Also because of the next Legend of Zelda!

    @Naila
As someone who got a Wii U when unsure to get one, I seriously can't suggest it more. ♥ It's such a fantastic console and all of the games we've gotten so far are amazing fun, albeit very casual in a sense. I've not gotten HW yet, but let me tell you Windwaker HD is perfection and it's worth it just for that (then again I'm bias because it's my favourite Zelda game).
  • NailaNaila Moderator, Compulsion Team
@Otherbuttons Wind Waker is one of my favorite Zelda game as well! It is so beautiful!
Exactly! I want a Wii U for casual gaming and just mindless, positive fun. Nintendo will always have a special place in my heart.

HW, Wind Waker, Super Mario 3D World(Kitties!!), Donkey Kong, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3 etc..+ the classics from the Virtual Console? Ughh I need to get on that
  • @Naila @Otherbuttons In March I nabbed all the Club Nintendo codes I could from friends, and at the end was able to grab Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and The Wonderful 101. I just wish I had time to play them. T-T

But yes, I can also vouch for the amazingness of Wind Waker HD. I loved the original, but this remake fixes so many of the problems from the GC version and looks sublime. DO THE THING, NAILA.

Still having a blast with Pillars of Eternity. It's really interesting, but complex. A lot of attributes and even more spells :)
  • @Naila Like other Mario games.. if you play on multiplayer be prepared to strain your friendships if you get Super Mario 3D World. I cannot count the times my friends have tried to throw me off the level or I've purposely left them behind. It is an amazing game though! :D

I recently bought This War of Mine and it is an addicting game and also FINALLY started Contrast. I've been waiting to get all of my recording stuff in the mail before I started playing Contrast.. but now it's all here.

One of my personal FAVORITE games ever, bioshock one and infinite. "Hey misfit, why didn't you mention bioshock two? That's MY favorite!" Random stranger , did you like sonic boom? "Why yes I did." I rest my case. But really, all jokes aside, all the bioshock games are good, some just more than others. If your a shooter fan, infinite all the way. If your a survival horror guy, bioshock. If your into one of the best stories told in gaming, one, then infinite, than 2.

    * one of my personal series of games. Grammar.

@MISFIT I hear you! Infinite is one of my favorite games as well! I never finished Bioshock 1 myself because it spooked me too much back in the days but I've seen my bf play it so I know the story.

Bioshock 2 I played the beginning but never finished it, I LOVED the big sister, I thought the design was just the coolest and for a while I really wanted to cosplay her but it's a pretty ambitious project.

My favorite is Infinite though, this one I completed it and my mind was blown away.

So, I hit a really difficult fight in PoE, and just gave up. I think I'm too low level, but one of the really annoying things to me is the limitations on the number of times you can rest. I'm at the final encounter of a keep (no spoilers), and I'm wounded, out of spells, and out of campfires. I don't want to go back to town, but after several failed attempts, I'm thinking it's going to have to happen...

So I just started playing Kingdoms of Amalur instead. Really enjoying hitting things without a great deal of thinking.
  • shmerlshmerl Member
I'm playing PoE too and sometimes switch to Shadow Warrior remake (recent Linux release). That's one glorious hack-n-slash with a good story.

I've hit casual season again and gone back to my Animal Crossing: New Leaf town for hardcore flower breeding. hardcore at casuals aw yeahhh.

but no really, New Leaf is amazing and always will be. I've also just picked up Cooking Mama again for fun mini-game times. As great as big fun games are, it's always nice to relax with a casual no-brainer game. ♥

@Otherbuttons I've been meaning to play Animal Crossing for so long now, but I got sidetracked with Fantasy Life, I really feel I don't give enough love to my 3DS, I think I will pick up Majora's Mask soon.

Talking about Animal Crossing have you seen this post? @Papermoon made some Contrast inspired clothes! :D

  • As for me, I haven't played since January.. I don't have time for this, I play several times a week, mostly on PS4 and PC. Nowadays, I spend always all my way to work on online gambling form my iPhone on website I fond on http://casinomonster.ca... My wife says that I should better play video games

Dota 2 Reborn Update. I haven't played in two weeks (thanks E3) but this whole new engine thing looks neat. The dota menu UI has been abysmal for some time, so I'm hoping this makes a big difference in getting people to play and understand the game.

Otherwise, playing some Don't Starve Together. I resurrect others, nobody resurrects me. Such is life.
  • Pokemon. For ever pokemon.

To be more specific, just shiny hunting in Pokemon X. But every now and then I wander back in the world of Tamriel to beat some dragons.

Fallout 4 (cos excited about new fallout game), FF7 (cos excited about remake), we happy few, contrast, the evil within, going to start alien isolation.
Occasionally dip into the Arkham games and prison architect <3
Also have been promising forever that I will play Shenmue so that might be on the cards soon though I'm not overly excited about it.
Have recently unsubbed from Blizzard/WoW/starcraft/HotS/HS so lots more time to play other things :D

    @Sam Ugh I can't wait for Don't starve together on PS4

Anyone playing Rocket League? It's pretty addictive, me and @Lucigen played together the other day, lots of fun!
  • JDickJDick Compulsion Team
We should do a Rocket League party. I never played it but I've looked a it, it looks completely crazy, almost as fun as hockey! :P
  • Terraria, splatoon, persona 4, and we happy few when my computer feels like running it.
  • I've been playing Terraria and We Happy Few (both on PC).

Sadly, I have to limit my game play due to life.
  • I'm pretty much playing Garry's Mod. Such a fun game.
